It's December, which can only mean one thing - lots of summaries and run downs of 2016. And I'm not about to buck that trend. So below is a recap of my favourite photos and photoshoots from 2016!
I kicked off the year with an outfit shoot with Tanya Burr. This was my first time working with Tanya (but not the last, as you'll soon see) and it was lovely to meet her (and Martha) and we had a lovely time shooting.
In January, I also worked with an upcoming singer called Louise Smith, spending a few hours shooting a few different looks along the Southbank.
A 2016 recap post just wouldn't be a decent recap post without a few appearances from Niomi Smart. She's been a busy bee this year, and this was from a shoot about sportswear as she was training for the London Marathon.
February saw me head off to Iceland for a long weekend. I completely fell in love with the place and cannot wait to go back for a longer trip.
I worked with a new blogger called Heather Chambers, and we headed to Leake Street to shoot against the amazing graffiti tunnel.
Heading in to March, I worked once again with Tanya Burr but this time shooting a few portraits. You can read a shoot break down about this shoot here.
In March, I sometimes work with fashion students, as it's around this time that fashion students want to shoot their final collection. It's a great opportunity to work with talented designers and the incredible work they've produced. The above four images are from Fashion Design finalists from the University of Hertfordshire: Beth Varty (you can read the shoot break down here), Georgia Bryce Laura Earl and Lily Windsor.
As Spring began, it was a lot easier (and much more pleasant) to start shooting outside again, and I made the most of it when I photographed musician Will Joseph Cook for Euphoria Magazine.
In Summer, I shot some portraits with Niomi in her beautiful and light apartment.
This year I have started to do more fashion testing. This is a test with Ambre from Milk Model Management, shooting in Hampstead Heath.
In July I headed off for a 10 day trip to Italy! I went to Rome, Venice (pictured above), Lake Garda and then back to Rome. I decided to take my Holga CFN 120 with me instead of my Canon DSLR, and took a few pictures from the beautiful Hotel Excelsior on the Lido.
Here's me with my Holga once again, on a day trip to the Norfolk coast, taking in the Happisburgh lighthouse.
I spent a week in the Highlands at the start of Autumn visiting friends. I was having some down time so didn't really take many photos, but I did snap this on my phone whilst travelling through the Cairngorms.
Another test, this time for Storm, I worked with Eve who was absolutely lovely and a complete natural. We shot around China Town and Leicester Square in the fading Autumn light, utilising the light from the shops and signs in the area.
What better way to wrap up the year summary than with Niomi! We shot these in some beautiful Mews (Mewses? Mews'?) that are distributed around central and west London.
2016 has been a really busy year, and I've loved every single shoot I did, whether it was a high budget commissioned shoot or a quick test, and I'm so excited about what 2017 will bring!
